GRID+ and ETP SmartGrids in the EUSEW, 27 June Brussels

27th June 2013 in Brussels. The conference is co-organised by GRID+ and the ETP SmartGrids with the special contribution of Futured.

The main theme of the conference is the contribution of the smart grids to the sustainability on the energy field, particularly regarding energy efficiency and integration of renewable energy sources. For this purpose the event will be divided into 3 blocks.

Block I: Member State cases will be introduced by National Technology Platforms in order to provide the audience with different points of view about the benefits of the deployment of the SmartGrids, specially with regard to energy sustainability objectives and benefits for society. The session will be moderated by the Spanish technology platform Futured.

Block II:European smart grids R&D&D in action. This session will start with an overview of all projects and initiatives on the concerned field in Europe, provided by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. Showcases of European and national projects will follow.

Block III: The last block will deal with the future of smart grids by presenting the R&I priorities identified for 2020 and 2035, as well as the support mechanisms foreseen within Horizon 2020.
